What this city needs.

HOUSING.

Like everything else these morons have touched, housing in Stoke-on-Trent is in a pathetic condition.
Charged with renewing the housing stock, this city council have failed abjectly to do so, leaving the city with less houses than it started with!
Labours attempts at improving the housing stock seem to have taken a wrong turn!

And what few vacant properties the council have are given to outsiders who get to jump the housing list and go straight into a property whilst 11,000 people  have to wait in a queue!
When you are lucky enough to get a house, the chances are you will have serious scum as near neighbours through the councils diabolical allocations policy.

Tenants have a long list of rules and regulations in the tenancy agreement, which they must meet, and continue to do so, yet where are the councils obligations and responsibilities to the tenants?
Where are the rules and regulations the council have to follow?

As a tenant, you are not allowed to behave in a criminal manner as it lowers the quality of life of those around you, but along come the council and stick in some right scumbag who turns the area into a crime ridden dump, and nothing is done!
Why are the council placing these kinds of people in our communities? How does this help to build a stronger community? Why put these people in, then have to go to the expense of gathering evidence for 6 months to get them out?
Surely to God ,the smart move is not to house them in the first place?!

This city needs to clean up its image if it wants to succeed, and allocations is the first place to start on that journey.

There has been a terrible outcry over the demolition of character filled terraced houses in and around the city, but one look at them highlights the point they are not up to scratch for the 21st century, but instead of knocking them all down- and there was nothing wrong with most of them-, if you knock down every third house, you change them from terraced to semi's, you retain the character of the buildings, and most important of all, you provide space for off road parking to clear the streets of vehicles!
This is such an effective, and financially efficient way, of providing housing fit for this century without having to blow £millions, that it beggars belief that it wasn't used to save Middleport, Longport, and Northwood.

As a member of the Potteries Community Federation, and as a representative of the England First Party, I have been in contact for several years now, with a national house building company that is right at the forefront of technical innovation with it's super efficient insallation and board design.
Having spoken to them on numerous occasions, they wrote out a dummy contract for me that would have had two and three bed bungalows built to wind and waterproof for £9000!

The boards, which are pre-constructed, are so energy efficient, they can negate the need for central heating! That's the kind of innovation we should be looking to, that would make a huge difference to pensioners on a limited income.

They have now gone and made specific designs for social housing.  If we have to invite companies in to rebuild housing in the city, this is who we should be inviting to do it, and with a big enough contract, we could get them to make the panels here in the city, using some of the local workforce to construct them

It is using imagination that will highlight us as a city council, and it is being highlighted that will bring us to the attention of businesses and investors looking for a place to do business, this is how we will start to improve the reputation of the city. Combined with a zero tolerance policy on anti-social behaviour, we can improve the quality of life for those living in council housing across the city, and the cleaner it becomes, the better its reputation becomes, the easier it will become to fill up the vacancies in our communities with decent, law abiding people.

All these things are tied together, yet get one of these things right, it will have a knock on effect throughout the other areas, get them wrong, and you only have to look at the state this city is now in to know just what a disastrous effect it can have on peoples lives.

This is what the England First Party will push for, clearing our communities of scum, improving the allocations system, improving the quality of life for the citizens.

Jobs for the boys!

This city council is absolutely the perfect example of fraud, corruption, and dodgy dealing, and that is highlighted by its latest salaried appointment.

Hardial Bhogal, the head of Renew, and complete and utter waste of bloody time, has been promised direct employment by the senior officers of this scabby council, as "director of place".

The freemason, Common Purpose infested city council have offered him a position that encompasses that of the previous head of the NSRP( North Staffs Regeneration Partnership), Tom Macartney.
Read this article from the Guardian, 2002, to give you some idea of the calibre of this drain on council finances.

Hardly surprising he's smiling, his Labour party Common Purpose mates just sorted him out with a well paid job that he is clearly unfit to do!

Walsall chief resigns before sacking vote.

A local authority branded a failure by the government was today looking for a new boss after its chief executive resigned hours before a vote on whether to sack him.
Hardial Bhogal quit as chief of Walsall council yesterday - shortly before councillors decided to dismiss him and other senior managers.
Mr Bhogal's resignation follows a damning audit commission report in June which recommended that a private sector management team should be brought in to improve the council's failing services.
A Walsall spokesman said today: "The council voted last night to comply with the recommendations from the audit commission that the senior management team be replaced. It was a very difficult decision for the councillors to make. They felt the council needed to move forward and get government help rather than government interference."
Mr Bhogal is to be temporarily replaced by the chief executive of Telford and Wrekin council, Michael Frater.
Walsall had been referred to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister by the commission after suffering "severe service failures" and management problems.
The council had earlier been criticised by the commission, in January, when it was given until the end of April to demonstrate change. The steps which it took did not go far enough, the commission said.
Inspectors recommended that a new group of private sector managers should replace the council's current executive management, including the chief executive, for up to two years.
The local government minister, Nick Raynsford, said his department had suspended the threat of private sector intervention following the council's decision on its senior management.
"The government agrees with the council's decision to seek new leadership to take forward the demanding programme of improvement needed to improve local services in Walsall," he said.
"I am very pleased that Walsall has taken such a positive step forward in the light of the constructive criticisms they have received from recent inspection reports.
"I welcome the new role assigned to Michael Frater and have every confidence that he, working with the council's leadership and new management team, will make rapid progress in raising the standard of services provided to local people."

And then the senior officers of Stoke-on-Trent city council drag 3rd rate crud like him here, and give him a bloody massive salary!
This man was about to be sacked from his highly council position in Walsall, has made a complete and utter failure out of North Staffs Regeneration, yet is being taken on by Stoke-on-Trent city council!!

The local elections in May are the last elections for 4 years, so if the people of Stoke-on-Trent want to see change for this city, they had better vote for it, because once that day is gone, we'll be stuck with your choices for 4 bloody years, so please make the right ones!

Merv the Perv does Jackanory.

Another shining example of the failure of this city council, but this time promoted by the city councillors, is the horse crap talked about the regeneration of this city. Now to my certain knowledge, these bumbling Labour communists have been promising us a new bus station for at least 25 years, and yet in all that time, with a Labour government, 3 Labour MPs, and a Labour controlled council, the only regeneration we've seen is the demolishing of half the bloody city, the only new build of any significance? A bloody mosque!

Mark Merediths boyfriend, the aforementioned Merv "the perv" Smith, is once again trotting out that same old Labour crap about how all these wonderful things are about to happen in the city, but then mysteriously never do.

I am very cynical over these claims. If this shower of cowboys can't regenerate this city with every possible advantage, how the hell are they going to regenerate it in the middle of a recession, a recession that has a second dip fast approaching?

We saw Meredith waste £2 million on superficially tarting up the approaches to Hanley with some new turf and trees- £2 MILLION!!- so if these clowns are talking of structural regeneration, we have to be looking at  tens of millions at least, this despite the fact they can't find the £36 million needed in savings because they are so bloody financially irresponsible, they shouldn't be trusted with the money from a paper round, never mind the multi-million pound budget of this city.

Those more observant amongst you will notice that I am not Mr Smiths biggest fan, his last incumbancy as a city councillor saw nothing done by him and his communist buddies either, apart from the usual degradation of the city through a lack of imagination, common sense, and the assurity that no matter how badly they performed, there are enough morons on the Stoke-on-Trent electoral register to vote them back in.

I'm tired of listening to the empty promises of these useless city councillors and council officers, who combined, have achieved nothing for the regeneration of this city apart from a cupboard in the Civic Centre that must be jam-packed with plans and drawings that the city council has spent millions of your tax pounds on, in the clear and absolute knowledge that they will never be used.

This seems like just another tall tale from a city council expert in the production of porkies and billshut, a bunch of mindless drones simply going through the motions in order to claim their cash incentives.

Roll on the local elections, that's what I say...........
